The alternative Father’s Day gift guide from hotukdeals

Make dads feel just as special as mums without breaking the bank

London, Wednesday 7th June 2017: hotukdeals, the UK’s biggest deal-sharing community, presents the alternative Father’s Day gift guide to provide inspiration for gifts and things to do that will make dads feel just as special as mums without breaking the bank this Father’s Day (Sunday 18th June).

Mintel estimates that £360 million was spent on products for Father’s Day in 2015, with less than half (47%) of Brits spending any money on the occasion*. In comparison, in the same year, £510m was estimated to have been spent by Brits for Mother’s Day with 60% spending money on their mums.

Consumers on hotukdeals provide inspiration for gifts for all kinds of occasions such as Mother’s Day, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. What do they think are the hottest deals to be had for Father’s Day and where can you get them from?**

Treat dad to a big breakfast

Over the last two years the hottest Father’s Day deal, as voted for by the members of hotukdeals, has been for Morrison’s half price big breakfast available at the supermarket’s café (normally £4.50). According to members, the breakfast has been the same price for 2015 and 2016 and was on offer before 12pm throughout Father’s Day weekend, so worth looking out for the same deal this year.

Free meals and drinks

Last year, another hot deal for Father’s Day was for a free meal at Frankie and Benny’s where dads could order two courses for free from the Father’s Day menu. Other pubs and restaurants that offered free meals or drinks for dads last year were Bella Italia where dads could eat free with a printable code; Crown Carveries where dads could get a free drink; free meal for dad after 6:30pm on Father’s Day at Harvester with a printable code and Beefeater Grills who offered a free steak for Dad’s after 5pm on Father’s Day.

Freebies found for this Father’s Day include a free drink and E-Card at Marston's pubs (free drink can be redeemed from 12-18th June) and two free pints at a Fuller's Pub.

Dads go free at various attractions

Like Mother’s Day, many attractions offer free entry for dads over Father’s Day weekend. Over the last two years hot deals for Father’s Day have included free entry for dads at Gulliver’s World when accompanied by one full paying person. Longleat Safari also offered the same deal last year via a voucher/code.

Members of hotukdeals have spotted that Gulliver’s World has the same offer this year for Father’s Day weekend and there are also other locations offering free entry for dads including Twycross Zoo, Berkeley Castle, Paradise Wildlife Park, The World of Beatrix Potter and more, which you can view on the hotukdeals deal thread.

Give them an experience they’ll never forgot

Experience days can often be expensive and overlooked as a gift idea but around occasions such as Father’s Day it’s worth looking out for vouchers and discount codes for activities such as car racing, hot air balloon rides and more. The second hottest Father’s Day deal as voted by the members of hotukdeals in 2016 was for a two-hour flight experience, which was down to £79.20 with a code (was £225). This was available a month before Father’s Day at IntoTheBlue. Another hot deal for Father’s Day last year was for a supercar driving experience from BuyaGift, which was down to £30 in June thanks to a code that gave £10 off a £40 spend or £15 off a £75 spend.
